“Fran’s Oil Painting”

This was one of my earliest experiments with oil paint, and I quickly discovered how different it felt from acrylic. I loved the slower pace, the way the colors blended, and the extra time it gave me to work with the paint. Looking back, I'm not entirely sure why I never explored oils more.

The title isn't especially imaginative, but it does have a story. The painting was already finished when my cousin Fran decided she absolutely needed a "Martha Original." She campaigned for this one with enough enthusiasm that, eventually, it became hers. Somehow, Fran's Oil Painting seemed like the only title it could have.
