Jo's Sunset was named after my friend Jo, who told me this was her favorite of my paintings. Knowing that someone connected so deeply with a piece gave it a special meaning and eventually inspired its title.

The painting captures one of those quiet moments at the end of a summer day when the world seems to slow down. The warm glow of the setting sun, the gentle movement of the water, and the canopy of leaves overhead create a place that feels both peaceful and familiar.

Rather than focusing on a specific location, I wanted to paint the feeling of being there—the kind of evening that invites you to linger just a little longer, listening to the water and watching the light fade across the horizon.

The close-up photograph highlights the richly textured brushwork, while the final image shows how the painting brings warmth and color to a living space.

For me, this painting is a reminder that some of life's simplest moments—a quiet sunset, good company, and a place to pause—often become the memories we treasure most.
