As I painted this face, I found myself thinking about the invisible barriers that so many people—especially women—continue to encounter. Throughout history, opportunities that seemed automatic for some have often required others to ask permission, prove themselves, or wait to be invited.

That's where the title came from.

Let me...

Let me lead.
Let me speak.
Let me create.
Let me choose my own path.

The unfinished phrase is intentional. I hope each viewer completes it differently, bringing their own experiences to the painting.
