“Seven Years”

Some commissions celebrate milestones, and this one marked seven years together for a couple who had both been students of mine. That connection made the project especially meaningful from the very beginning.

One of the greatest compliments an artist can receive is being entrusted to preserve an important memory. Knowing they wanted to celebrate their relationship with a custom painting made this project particularly rewarding.

I worked from one of their favorite photographs, carefully recreating the expressions, lighting, and colors that made the moment feel so genuine. My hope was not simply to paint two people, but to capture the warmth, friendship, and affection that made the photograph worth remembering in the first place.

Being asked to create this painting was an honor, and I was grateful to play a small part in celebrating their story.
