Have you ever had one of those days when it feels as though you're being pulled in several different directions at once?

That was the idea behind this painting.

The yellow flower remains quietly in place while blue vine-like forms wrap around it from every direction. They twist, pull, and weave around the flower, making it difficult to tell whether they're supporting it or holding it back.

I intentionally left that open to interpretation.

Sometimes the demands in our lives help us grow. Other times they leave us feeling tangled, stretched too thin, or unable to move in the direction we'd like. Often, they're a little bit of both.
