One of my favorite parts of traveling is discovering the moments you could never have planned.

My friend and I had intended to take the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, but a delayed flight sent us on an entirely different route. Instead, we found ourselves driving to Vancouver to catch the last ferry of the evening.

What was initially a frustrating start to our trip became one of its most memorable moments.

Standing on the deck, watching the sun settle over the islands and its reflection stretch across the water, the frustration of the day quietly disappeared. It reminded me that some of life's best experiences happen only because our plans change.

This painting isn't just a memory of a beautiful sunset. It's a reminder that unexpected detours sometimes lead us exactly where we were meant to be.
