This is one of the strangest paintings I have ever created. I painted it during the day, surrounded by natural light that made the colors feel vibrant, luminous, and full of energy. Yet when I viewed the painting that evening under the warm glow of incandescent light, an entirely different work seemed to emerge. The brilliance had softened into muted, earthy tones, and what once felt bright and lively became atmospheric, subdued, and unexpectedly moody. It was not at all what I had anticipated.

In the end, I came to see that its success lies in its unpredictability. The painting does not remain static; it responds, transforms, and asks to be seen anew. What first seemed like inconsistency became one of its greatest strengths—a work alive enough to shift with the light and reveal something different each time it is encountered.

(The photos below show just how differently the same painting can look depending on lighting.)
